What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI has an opportunity for a Safety, Environmental, and Health Engineer to support the Air Force Satellite Control Network, AFSCN.  This role will support a very exciting and important mission for the Air Force and Department of Defense.

More About the Role:

We are looking for someone with a wide range of safety, environmental, and health engineering knowledge.   You will perform a variety of safety, environmental, and health tasks:

  • Develop and implement a robust safety program in support of the CAMMO contract to include but not limited to, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, System Hazard Analysis, Subsystem Hazard Analysis, Health Hazard Assessment (HHA), and Operating and Support Hazard Analysis.
  • For baseline changes to the AFSCN, identify and define system safety risks and the levels of risk by determining the probabilities of occurrence and the associated severity of the identified risk hazards as defined in MIL-STD-882E.
  • Ensure that safety deliverables are meeting contractual requirements
  • Develop project safety, environmental, and health requirements.
  • Perform safety analysis for requirements, design reviews, and testing.
  • Participates as a team member on project teams and provides guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Engineering activities support both domestic and international services
  • Prepare presentations and participate in project milestone reviews (requirements, design, implementation, test). Program Management Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various other working groups
  • Review and approve test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements
  • Perform incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action implementationEducation: BS degree in safety engineering or a technical field
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of Safety, Environmental, and Health experience
  • You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and executing a safety program
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882E, Department of Defense Standard Practice, System Safety
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT standards and regulations
  • Safety development life cycle management
  • Program planning for programmatic and technical requirements
  • These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • AFSCN operations and maintenance or other equivalent experience with satellite ground systems
