Join us to hear Perry Silvey speak about how and why he cofounded the Trenching Excavation Safety Taskforce (TEST) and learned to promote how to “Think inside the box” supporting efforts to help reach those that need to be reached.

As safety professionals, this is always top of mind, however based on fatalities and accidents that continue to happen, the behavior change isn’t always reaching the workers who are putting themselves at risk.

As a Safety Manager for the BT Construction Safety Team, Perry assists in supporting field crews and helps teams understand and implement the company safety program. He communicates procedures and aids the team with compliance requirements including customer, local, state and federal rules and regulations.

Perry has over 18 years of experience in the civil construction industry, starting as a laborer and coming up through the ranks as an operating heavy equipment, estimating and project management. In 2012, he transitioned into the safety profession in the fast-paced civil construction world and has gained valuable experience. In 2017, Perry obtained his Construction Health and Safety Technician certification (CHST) authorized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
